Headquartered in Morgantown, West Virginia, Gabriel Brothers is a privately owned corporation. The company, which celebrated its 40th Anniversary in 2001, currently has more than 30 locations throughout West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Virginia. Aggressive plans are underway for further expansion.

Retail Pioneers
Gabriel Brothers has been in the discount clothing retail business for more than 40 years. The Gabriel style of merchandising actually dates back to the 1920s, when Lebanese immigrant Z.G. Gabriel peddled merchandise in the tiny coal towns scattered throughout Fayette County, Pennsylvania.

Gabriel Brothers commenced business as a West Virginia partnership in 1961, with founding partners James and Arthur Gabriel at the helm. Several years later, in 1969, Gabriel Brothers became a West Virginia corporation doing business as Gabriel Brothers Discounts, Inc. In February 1988, the corporate name was changed to Gabriel Brothers, Inc., marking the beginning of a steep climb of growth and expansion, which continues today. In the late 1980s, early expansion took place in the Southwestern Pennsylvania towns of Washington, Uniontown, and Belle Vernon. Throughout the 1990s Gabriel Brothers expanded into Maryland, Ohio, and Virginia. Committed to serving its customers by providing value, Gabriel Brothers continues to look for new growth opportunities as links in its chain of successes.
